Presentation
- With the knowledge of whole genomes, biologists can now adopt an encyclopaedic approach, considering all the genes, proteins, functional pathways, etc. of an organism and comparing the features of different genomes. Currently 415 microbial genomes have been sequenced and about 1000 are in progress. To help using this deluge of data we propose in this project to design an integrated resource for microbial genomics.
- The objective is to gather together relevant genomic data and to make them available to various data mining approaches in spite of their heterogeneity. To fully exploit these data, an interactive system will be designed that allows to extract relevant pieces of knowledge using efficient and powerful queries. This system will be endowed with innovative graphic interfaces, taking advantage of the human vision to guide the exploration of stored data.
